Consul General of India Amit Kumar delivered the opening remarks today at the insightful virtual session on “Green Hydrogen and Mobility: The New Path For a Sustainable Future” organized by Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), Chennai.

2. In his remarks, Consul General Amit Kumar spoke about the energy challenge facing India, the ambitious green initiatives and structural reforms being taken by the Government in the energy sector, and pointed out that India is the only G20 country to be ‘2° celsius compatible’ as the  per the Climate Change Transparency Report. In this backdrop, he talked about the government’s policy push on green hydrogen and electric vehicles in India, energy cooperation between India and US including on climate, financing and technology, and potential synergies that exist between the two countries.

4. This virtual session was  part of IACC Chennai’s 1st virtual mini-expo India-USA Trade Connect- Trade Beyond Borders, a 24/7, virtual trade event being held from March 15 to 31, 2022 that includes, B2B Meetings, networking, product show case by more than 25 exhibitors, high-level panel discussions, key note sessions on 15 and 16 March  with industry stalwarts from Aerospace & Defence, Green Energy, Apparels & Textiles, Automotive & General Manufacturing, IT & ITES, Electronics, Agri& Food processing, and Healthcare, Pharma& Medical Sciences.
