Independence Day 2024 reception at the Chicago Cultural Center

On August 15, 2024, the Consulate General of India in Chicago celebrated the 78th Independence Day with a reception at the Chicago Cultural Center. The event drew a distinguished audience including members of the Consular Corps, Mayors, State Representatives, elected officials, key figures from the Indian community, friends of India, academics, and media representatives.

Over 400 guests were present including Mr. Diego Morales, Secretary of State, Indiana, Mr. Jesal Patel, Mayor of Lincolnwood, Ms. Sangeetha Rayapati, Mayor City of Moline, Mr. Kevin Olickal, State Representative, IL, Ms. Shweta Baid, Alderwoman, Ward 10, Aurora. Congratulatory messages were read on behalf of Senator Mike Brown, Indiana and Mayor of Chicago. The distinguished guest engaged in discussions about the India-USA partnership and the importance of India's Independence Day. The evening also featured a brief but captivating cultural performance that captivated the audience.
