Visa for Diplomatic/Official 

  1. Applications for Diplomatic and Official Passports may be filled up online at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/. A print out of the application form, along with pasted photo on the form and other documents may be submitted directly in the Consulate General of India, Chicago, 455 North City Front Plaze Drive, Suite # 850, NBC Tower, Chicago, Illinois, 60611.  It will not be accepted at VFS Global Office. The visa is usually gratis.

  2. US Diplomatic and Official passport holders may please contact the Special Issuance Agency of the Department of State for procedure/guidance.

  3. In the link above, please choose the left most option for paper visa and follow further as guided by the system. Please complete the application and submit it online after uploading the photograph. Take a printout of the completed application, paste photo, sign below and submit it along with the Note verbale and the required attachments given below to the Consulate on all working days between 1100-1200hrs only.

  4. Fill and attach the Additional Information Form

  1. A letter of invitation from Indian agencies in case of bilateral visits should be submitted along with the visa application.

  2. A copy of the passport bio-data & signature pages is to be submitted along with the visa application.

  1. Collection of Passports after visa issuance would be on all working days 1500-1600 hrs only.
